- Less competition. The truth of the matter, a lot people are not selling their homes during this time of year. Take advantage of that simple fact to get your house out there for potential buyers.
- Home’s show better. Don’t go overboard with decorations, but having some decorations up and a fire crackling in the fireplaces can make your home look warm and cozy. Use this time of the year to entice buyers.
- No yard work. Hate yard work? When you sell during this time of the year, you don’t have to keep up on lawn care or weeds. Be sure to keep your driveway and steps clean and salted to prevent people from slipping.
- Emotional buyers. People can be a little more sentimental during this time of year which can be used in your favor. If they fall in love with your home, they are going to more inclined to purchase it now than in January.
- Year end tax consideration. Depending on your situation, there may be tax benefits to buying/selling a home before the end of the year. Talk to your CPA to find out if you qualify.
- Job changes. People are starting new jobs and for those who are relocating, a lot of those new jobs will start in January. Now is the time many of them are looking to move so they are moved in when the new job starts.
